Can the Junior Convention be scheduled on a different weekend?

Due to the massive size of our Junior Convention, any university that hosts us cannot use any of their performance rooms or classrooms. Because of this, we are only able to book dates during the university's graduation weekend, when all students are expected to be off campus and there are no regular or summer classes scheduled.

How much does it cost to participate in the FFMC Junior Convention?

The current list of fees is included in the Junior Procedures Manual, which can be found under the "About Us" tab. Teachers are not allowed to charge their students in excess of the entry fee established by FFMC.

Where can I find the online application for the FFMC Junior Convention?

All applications and payment instructions  are emailed directly to FFMC teachers who have students registered at their local Festivals.

All applications, payments, and communication must go through the teacher.

No.
This is a competition where all students within a level MUST perform back to back for the same panel of judges to ensure a fair and consistent deliberation process. Therefore we CANNOT separate students from their group and accommodate scheduling requests.

All events require memorization, except Hymn Playing, Collaborative Piano, Ensembles and Sight Playing.

Scores must be legally purchased, including books, single sheet scores, or digital downloads.

Is there an award ceremony/concert?

Yes! There is an award ceremony which features special endowed award performances and all of the winners and honorable mentions from that day.

My child/student received an award, where can I pick it up?

All awards are announced and distributed at the evening award ceremonies, or can be picked up by a designed person by the end of the last evening ceremony on the last day. Any unclaimed awards will be available for the teacher/designated person to pick up at the Senior Convention.

How do I get a participation certificate?

Teachers, or their designated pick up person, may pick up all of their studio certificates at the info desk in the lobby.

Who is allowed to communicate with judges?

Only FFMC convention committee staff and indoor room monitors are allowed to communicate directly with judges.

Teachers are required to submit a monitoring deposit, which is returned IF the teacher signs up and completes on full monitoring shift at the FFMC Junior Convention.
