Mrs. Beery was a premier ballerina, dancing with the Washington Ballet and active in the Stage Door Canteen in World War II. She operated the Lake Wales School of Ballet for many years. Before arrival in Lake Wales, she traveled all over the world with her husband, Lawrence A. Beery, Jr., who worked with the State Department.
