ABOUT FFMC

Organized in 1913*, the Florida Federation of Music Clubs, Inc. is a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs and is dedicated to the purpose of furthering music education and fostering a musical environment in our communities through the sponsorship of musical events and by providing performing opportunities for our talented and deserving young people. As well, FFMC, Inc. sponsors competitive events in which participating students can win awards and scholarships.

*FFMC's first president, Mrs. James H. Hirsch from Orlando was appointed by NFMC in the year 1913. Because of the intervening World War, no meeting was held until 1917 when Mrs. L. B. Safford was elected president at the first convention held in Miami.

WHO WE ARE

Members of the Florida Federation of Music Clubs, Inc. are professional and amateur musicians, as well as generous benefactors and music lovers, who volunteer their time and energy to create a dynamic musical and cultural environment in our communities.

WHAT WE DO

FFMC, Inc. is organized for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All donations made to FFMC, Inc. are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

OUR MEMBERS

We invite music organizations, music teachers, musicians, music lovers, and music students who live in Florida and share our goals to join FFMC. Please visit our Membership page for more information.

FESTIVALS

Festivals are non-competitive events held in February, where students receive a rating and judge's comments based on their performance. A wide range of musical instruments are represented at these Festivals: piano, voice, strings, woodwinds, percussion and more. Festival events include solos, concerti, duets, trios, quartets, duos, vocal groups, string ensembles, orchestras, and more. Students have the opportunity to enroll in the Federation Cup Program, to potentially earn points and trophies.

FEDERATION CUP

The NFMC Federation Cup Program offers additional incentive to all entrants participating in Festivals. Students earn points based on their Festival rating(s) and can accumulate these points for trophies of increasing size. Participation is optional and the cup fee is to be paid on an annual basis. More information can be found in the NFMC Festivals Bulletin and by contacting your local Festival and Federation Cup Chairs.

JUNIOR PROCEDURES MANUAL
