FFMC FRANCES RANDS BEERY BALLET AWARDSEndowed by the Lake Wales Arts Council
|
Winners may be invited to a state meeting and also receive a plaque, a certificate, and a sketch of the life of Frances Rands Beery.
Mrs. Beery was a premier ballerina, dancing with the Washington Ballet and active in the Stage Door Canteen in World War II. She operated the Lake Wales School of Ballet for many years. Before arrival in Lake Wales she traveled all over the world with her husband, Lawrence A. Beery, Jr., who worked with the State Department.
